Biography

After several years as a plaintiff’s lawyer focusing on employment law and personal injury, Brett was brought in to provide his unique experience and understanding of litigation to the Marron Lawyers employment defense practice. He has particular expertise in disability discrimination and retaliatory termination, wage and hour, misclassification claims, and related torts and contractual issues. Brett has also specialized in real estate disputes including quiet title, slander of title and lis pendens; as well as habitability, fraud, construction defect and other contractual claims involving real estate. He has handled cases from intake through trial, and up through the appeal process, even obtaining reversals for his clients through writ practice.

Joining the firm just as the COVID-19 crisis hit, Brett was immediately appointed to the firm’s corona-virus task force, conducting in-depth research and staying current on the fast-moving landscape. In this emerging field of law, Brett and the corona-virus brain trust at Marron Law have developed policies and procedures for companies nationwide, especially for clients working in logistics, delivery and warehousing.

Brett also has a special interest in non-profit taxation and management, fundraising, and employing social enterprise approaches to maximize charitable outreach. He has managed charitable campaigns for Marron Lawyers, and the firm looks forward to expanding such initiatives with his assistance.
